Everyone loves money, so why not have more of it? Whether you are just a student or are already working full-time, here are a few ways you can make that extra few $1K’s every month without too much time needed.

How To Earn $100K/yr With Medium

Medium among other services offer you money based on the traffic that comes to your page, it requires by far the least amount of hours compared to the other options to be qualified for monetisation and to earn money. This is because Medium boasts a fanbase that are loyal and if you grow naturally, slow and steady, you will create a following group that is strong and robust and will last throughout the ages, and your income will too. Most people earn below $100/month, but don’t fret because Medium and other writing services are a long-term game, don’t look for success within one week, month or year. Treat writing on Medium or any other website akin to that of a long-term investment in stocks, it’s growth will be slow and long, but eventually you’ll reach the top. However you do need to do a few things.

Slow and Steady Wins The Race

First, make sure you post frequently, the more the better. Also, make sure your topics are what you like and that you stick to them as the audience base you develop is interested on those specific topics only. I’d recommend a limit of 2 topics to write about, that way you don’t get bored or fall into writer’s block (a phase where you can’t think of ideas). Frequent posting is the only stable way to gain views and followers. You can find everywhere, people that try to get followers quickly through follow for follow and such, but at the end of the day, isn’t getting the first few followers the real fun of doing this thing at all. Because once you’re big, it’s done. You can’t go back and be small and grow up again. So take the time, grow naturally and develop your writing skills, your experience in the field that you like, and cultivate a strong, loyal and robust fanbase that will support your writing, some wherever you go. Whilst the writers that shoot up to fame quickly get burnt, you can enjoy your writing journey from 0 to Hero.

2.

Read other articles and interact, follow writers whose work you find fascinating and want to know more as by interacting with this community, you can find people who are like-minded with you and can enjoy your articles too. It might be tough for those that do not have a membership on Medium so for those people (like me), try to find articles where you can that do not have the star on them.

3.

Make sure you engage the audience with an appealing title and tag in order to drive views in and a great hook with the first paragraph to keep the views and convert them into reads. You can use https://findingtom.com/most-popular-medium-tags/ to find the most popular tags and hopefully you should find at least 5 tags that are suitable for the topic or topics that you want to talk about.

Remember, writing is cathartic, is a skill which you will gradually build and get better over time, and is a skill where you will find your unique voice for storytelling which will attract a loyal fanbase. Never give up and keep going everyday and down the line you will see your efforts come into fruition. Also, don’t think $100K is the limit, some people have earned over $20,000 in a month! Which means you can go far in Medium, it just depends on your effort, time and a bit of strategy as well.

Following me would mean a lot to me since it shows that the content I make is meaningful to you all and since I’m on the road to 100, being the first 100 followers would mean extra more for me.
